Abstract

(English) The main aim of this study is to acknowledge the great historical and artistic importance of the Competition for the International Auschwitz-Birkenau Monument that took place 1957. Focusing on the analysis of the distinguished designs, the article examines the issue of Holocaust representation and different artistic ways of its commemoration.

Absolwentka Instytutu Historii Sztuki Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego i Wydziału Zarządzania Kulturą Wizualną Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie, obecnie studentka studiów magisterskich na Goldsmiths University of London. W 2016 roku w związku ze stypendium Muzeum Historii Żydów Polskich POLIN studiowała na Uniwersytecie w Tel Awiwie. Jej głównym zainteresowaniem badawczym są relacje sztuki i Holokaustu.
