Editorial Team
“Place” is a peer-reviewed academic journal edited by a team of art historians from the Department of Artistic Research and Curatorial Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The editorial team of the „Place” journal operates on horizontal and democratic principles. Decisions are made collectively, based on the competence of each member of the editorial team.
The Process of Evaluating Submissions:
After receiving submissions in response to the CFP, the editorial team evaluates the submissions. If the submission does not fulfill the formal guidelines or does not fall within the aims and scope of „Place”, it is rejected. The author is informed of the editorial decision up to 2 weeks afetr submitting proposal.
If the article is appropriate to the scope of „Place” and prepared according to the editors’ guidelines, the process of internal review follows. Papers are assigned to individual editors according to their academic competence. If an editor has comments at this stage, he or she will forward them to the author. Once the text is completed or corrected, the double-blind peer review process follows. Authors are clearly informed of the expected length of the review process via e-mail correspondence, which will not exceed two months. The review process and the responsibilities of the editors are described in detail in the Peer Review Process section. The editors consult with each other throughout the various stages of the publication process.
Proofreading is handled by the Publishing Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
The editors continuously try to resolve any contentious issues. If necessary, members of the Editorial Board will be asked for their opinion. The decisions of the Editorial Board are final.
