Arkadiusz Półtorak
dr Arkadiusz Półtorak – cultural studies scholar, art curator and critic based in Kraków. Assistant Professor in the Department of Performativity Studies, Faculty of Polish at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. President of the Polish Section of the The International Association of Art Critics AICA; in 2020-2023 served as its Secretary-General. Since 2024, member of the Board of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź and the jury of the Jerzy Stajuda Art Criticism Award. Graduate of De Appel Curatorial Programme (2018). A few years ago he published the book Konkretne abstrakcje: Strategie i taktyki afirmatywne w sztuce współczesnej (IBL PAN, 2020), devoted to the artistic and curatorial practices that transformed institutions in the wake of the global recession in the first decade of the 21st century, as well as their antecedents from the previous century.
